Fast food locations are scattered all over the world, and that opens the door to some wild takes on traditional menu items. Some make us rejoice, others make us recoil, but one thing they all do is pique our interest. Feast your eyes on 20 of the craziest fast food dishes from around the world. 

1. Thailand’s Hershey’s Chocolate Burger

We love a good hamburger. We love a good chocolate bar. What we don’t love is mixing them, an outlandish idea that didn’t deter Burger King in Thailand. It’s essentially your everyday Whopper with an added condiment: chocolate sauce.

2. Singapore’s Kentaco

No, this doesn’t have anything to do with Ken and Barbie. It does, however, star mac and cheese and its costar, a fried chicken shell. It can be found at KFC locations in Singapore and it’s meant to be something of a taco.

3. Japan’s Ice Cream Fondue Pizza

This is found in a Japanese chain called Aoki’s Pizza and it’s only around for the summer (which is probably for the best). It’s a limited-item dish with a unique crust center that specifically holds ice cream, and customers are encouraged to dip their slices.

4. Poland’s Radish McMuffin

Usually, we like our McMuffins with sausage and egg, but that’s not how Poland does it. McDonald’s there stuffs its breakfast sandwiches with cottage cheese, arugula, and radish slices.

5. Hong Kong’s Twisty Pasta

6. The Philippines’ Spaghetti 

We all breathed a sigh of relief when McDonald’s abolished its spaghetti, but KFC in the Philippines hasn’t caught on yet. It’s a simple spaghetti dish without embellishments, but not exactly the finger-lickin’ choice we’d go for.

7. China’s Taro Pie

Americans will probably never see taro pies at their local McDonald’s and that’s because taro is native to the other side of the planet. Because of that, don’t be too surprised to find taro pie filling in China—a flavor said to be light and slightly sweet.

8. India’s Chicken Tikka Pizza

Domino's in India tried to bring the best of both worlds together by combining chicken tikka and pizza—and it’s said to be a big hit. The pie’s topped with chicken pieces, onion, paprika, and a mint mayo sauce, which is a good choice for those who can’t decide between the dishes.

Someone take Burger King away from Thailand before another far too literal menu item emerges. We hope you don’t like burgers and love cheese because this twist on a BK classic is 20 slices of cheese slapped between two buns. Yes, we’re serious.

10. Hong Kong’s Snake Meat Pizza

There’s nothing that makes this information easier to digest. Pizza Huts in Hong Kong sell pies with snake meat on them. While it’s a limited-time item, that time can’t come soon enough.

11. Australia’s Cheese Toasties

There’s nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned grilled cheese, but it’s also something you can easily make at home. Australia, however, brings them to you with a line of “cheese toasties” that range from just cheese to ham or tomato inclusions.
