1. Burger King's Whopper

Often considered McDonald's true competitor, we're here to say that the Burger King Whopper is better than the Big Mac. With its delicious flame-grilled patty topped with loads of fresh ingredients and sauce, it's time to give this underrated burger another shot. It might just surprise you.

2. Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger

Part of their value menu, this small but mighty cheeseburger gets you a better bang for your buck. It's not the biggest of burgers and does contain simple ingredients, but that's what works about it. The Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is never overwhelming and provides you with everything you want from a good fast food burger - and for a great price.

3. In-N-Out's Animal Style Burger

It'd be a crime not to include In-N-Out's iconic "not so secret" secret menu item, the animal style burger. While this fast food chain's burgers are already known to be delicious, adding on the extra spread, pickles, and grilled onions takes their cheeseburger to the next level. It's surprising how high quality this burger can taste when it's still considered fast food.

4. McDonald's Quarter Pounder With Cheese

There are two burgers at McDonald's that are considered their classic, iconic picks - the Big Mac and The Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Out of the two, one stands out more for its beef quality and overall flavor. Yes, we're saying that the Quarter Pounder is a better burger than the Big Mac. Not only do you get more meat, the toppings and sauce of the Quarter Pounder just make it a more well-rounded burger.

5. Culver's ButterBurger

An underrated chain in the fast food game, many people have commented that Culver's has some of the best burgers around. Full of flavor with juicy, seasoned patties, their ButterBurgers are topped with delicious ingredients that really make it stand out. It's too bad there aren't more accessible locations!

6. Five Guys' "All The Way' Burger

Getting an "All The Way" Burger at Five Guys' simply means you want all the standard toppings and sauces; that includes lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions and mushrooms, alongside ketchup, mustard, and mayo. For many, this is the perfect combination of toppings that create the base of an amazing burger. And that's what many call this! Some might say this is one of the best tasting burgers in the fast food game.

7. Shake Shack's Shack Burger

In contention for being one of the best fast food burger chains around, Shake Shack definitely doesn't disappoint with their classic Shack Burger. You might think it sounds a little basic, but trust us, that Angus beef patty does all the work. Combine it with all the fresh ingredients and their delicious ShackSauce, and you'll be surprised this came out of a fast food joint.

8. Carl's Jr.'s Super Star With Cheese

Carl's Jr. definitely doesn't get talked about enough! Not only do they feature a range of unique and delicious burgers on their menu, they do the classics right. That's why we want to shout out their iconic Super Star with Cheese. There's just something about this burger that feels higher quality than others out there. One thing's for sure, we'll never complain about the combination of their chargrilled patty, melted cheese, fresh veggies, and tangy pickles.

9. A&W's Teen Burger

If you're lucky enough to have an A&W near you, you'll know why this burger made it on this list. The Teen Burger is one of this fast food chain's most beloved burgers. It tastes fresh everytime, and never disappoints. The grilled, seasoned patty pairs beautifully with their special sauce that really brings the burger together. Pair it with their iconic root beer and delicious onion rings for a truly tasty fast food experience that'll have you going back for more.

10. Popeyes' Spicy Chicken Sandwich

We know they use the word sandwich instead of burger, but given that it's still using buns, we're adding it to this list. Because as you probably know, the Popeyes' Spicy Chicken Sandwich is one of the best around. If you're not feeling beef and want some crispy chicken instead, this is many people's go to. And when they spicy, they truly give you a kick with that addictive sauce!

1. Sonic's Cheeseburger

Unfortunately, Sonic has repeatedly received a bad rep online for being very inconsistent. According to many, how good of a burger you'll get depends on the location you go to. But one item that seems to get a lot of criticism online seems to be their cheeseburger. Even if you get a better turnout at a good location, it just doesn't compare to some of the other options out there. Not when Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger exists!

2. Checker's Checkerburger

While Checker's gets a lot of praise for their supposedly out of this world fries, we sadly can't say the same for the burgers. The Checkerburger, which is one that they're best known for, tends to leave customers wanting more. Overly greasy, the most people seem to say about it is that it's "mid," which definitely doesn't mean good.

3. White Castle's Sliders

Arguably one of the most disappointing burgers in the fast food market, White Castle gets a lot of negative attention for their sliders. People don't say they taste incredibly fresh and leave a lot to be desired. These sliders are simple and a bit bland by nature, meaning you're probably better off exploring other options around.

4. Wendy's Baconator

While Wendy's Baconator does have a serious following, as far as burgers go, we can't say this is one better than the Big Mac. It's just way too overwhelming! Loaded with too much bacon, meat, and cheese, it desperately needs some fresh veggies to counter all that heaviness. While it might be a satisfying, greasy treat every once in a blue moon, it's definitely not something you can (or should) eat on the regular.

5. Mr. Beast Burger's Beast Style Burger

As the biggest YouTuber in the game, when Mr. Beast opened his burger business, fans around the world were excited to get a bite of what he had to offer. Unfortunately, many were left disappointed by these bland, overpriced items, especially their signature Beast Style Burger. Because they were made from ghost kitchens, there's been a bit of controversy online over the quality control being sent out.

6. Dairy Queen's Original Cheeseburger

Let's be honest, while Dairy Queen is a fast food joint, they're most known for their delicious Blizzards, not their burgers. Sadly, it seems like their cheeseburger is one of the main culprits - there's nothing special about it. With most of their focus on creating new and interesting Blizzard flavors, their burgers and side items seem to be overlooked quite a bit.

7. Jack In The Box's Triple Bonus Jack

While Jack in the Box has some amazing curly fries that are some of the best around, we can't exactly say the same for their burgers. Their Triple Bonus Jack for example is likely meant to combat the Big Mac, but it falls short in our eyes. Their patties aren't always seasoned very well and their burgers just feel a bit inconsistent.

8. KFC's Famous Chicken Sandwich 

In recent years, KFC just doesn't seem to hit the same. Many people have raced online to comment about their drop in quality. The chicken just doesn't taste as good as it used to! And one menu item that definitely has suffered from it is their Famous Chicken Sandwich.

9. Burger King's Hamburger

Value menu items are always great to consider at fast food restaurants because they give you delicious goodies at a low price. But over at Burger King, we'd recommend skipping out on one of their cheapest burgers, the hamburger. Sure, what you get is what you pay for, but with such a thin patty, we think you'd find something better elsewhere for a similar price.

10. McDonald's Hamburger

And by somewhere else, we don't mean McDonald's. Because unfortunately, McDonald's doesn't fare any better in the hamburger game. Incredibly plain and simple, this burger just leaves you a bit unsatisfied. While yes, it might be the cheapest burger on the menu, we'd recommend spending an extra penny to get a much more filling and satisfying upgrade.
