20 Movie Restaurants That We Wish Were Real

Could Be The Food, Could Be The Fun

Whether it’s for the delicious meals or the characters involved, it’s not uncommon to want to step into your TV when a restaurant pops up in a movie. Sit back, relax, and picture yourself in the world of movie magic as you read through this list.

1. Mos Eisley Cantina, Star Wars: A New Hope

This famous tavern from A New Hope is home to a, say, unsavory crowd. The hub is filled with smugglers, bounty hunters, and pilots. We’re not too sure about the actual food situation, but the ambience alone would be worth it to anyone looking for an exciting night out.

2. Pizza Planet, Toy Story

This family-owned drive-in is good enough for Andy and his family, so it’s good enough for us! Pizza Planet has a well-loved space theme, seemingly decent pizza, and some hilarious little green aliens that you can win out of a claw machine.

3. Bob’s Burgers, Bob’s Burgers

Knowing what we know about the lovable Belcher family, who wouldn’t want to get a burger here? As Bob and Tina fixed our burger, we could chat with Linda as Gene played us something on the keyboard, all while narrowly avoiding getting pickpocketed by Louise. What could be more fun?

4. Moe’s Tavern, The Simpsons

This bar would have to be pretty popular since it seems to be the only one in Springfield. It’s dirty, it’s creepy, and it's being kept alive on hush money. You might not want to eat or drink anything there, but the cozy ambience might be enough to make it enjoyable.

5. Dorsia, American Psycho

If you can get a reservation, we bet this upscale restaurant would be incredible to experience. Of course, we never see it in the film, as the restaurant is used as a status symbol rather than something to enjoy. That said, we can imagine it would be really yummy.

6. The Frosty Palace, Grease

This pastel paradise is an adorable malt shop often frequented by Rydell students. The food looks good, the shakes look better, and occasionally, it becomes a stage for Frankie Avalon. The Frosty Palace is a joint where you and your friends can get up to a little mischief.

7. Jack Rabbit Slim’s, Pulp Fiction

This racing-themed restaurant always has something for you to look at. It features a toy racing track around the perimeter, a stage for live performances, celebrity photos, and dining booths made up of classic-style cars. And if you really want to, you can do a little twist.

8. Mendl’s Bakery, The Grand Budapest Hotel

This delicious patisserie has a distinct visual aesthetic, with a gorgeous pink box and peachy-orange font. The pastries also look so good that they’re not even worth cutting apart to check for any suspicious items.

9. St. Elmo’s Bar, St. Elmo’s Fire

This local hangout is popular amongst recent college graduates, and who can blame them? St. Elmo’s bar is situated on a cozy street, has gingham-style tablecloths, and genuinely seems like a warm and familiar joint to frequent.

10. Soul Food Cafe, The Blues Brothers

Thanks to Saturday Night Live, this iconic musical comedy is always a fun watch - especially when they get to the Soul Food Cafe. The cafe owner is played by Aretha Franklin, who sings the song “Think” in the movie. And how can we forget the iconic line, “4 fried chickens and a Coke” with “dry white toast.”

11. The Whistle Stop Cafe, Fried Green Tomatoes

This Georgia-based cafe is the primary setting of this 1991 film. The restaurant is unsurprisingly well-known for its fried green tomatoes recipe, which sounds absolutely delicious, but you can also get a full cookbook based on recipes from the cafe.

12. Gütiokipänjä, Kiki's Delivery Service

This adorable Koriko bakery is where the little witch Kiki does her year away from home. It features an adorable English Tudor style and contains living quarters as well as the storefront. Just think about how cool it would be to get your pastries delivered by broomstick!

13. Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, Five Nights At Freddy's

This one you probably want to avoid at night, but the Chuck-E Cheese-esque joy that emits from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria cannot be understated. The franchise from this popular horror game and movie looked like it was the place to be during its prime.

14. La Chocolaterie Maya, Chocolat

This fictional chocolate shop is the main setting of this 2000 film. Its shelves are stocked with all sorts of chocolate-based goodies that we wish we could just pluck out from the screen.

15. Dog Years, American Pie

This popular diner is the hangout spot for the characters in American Pie. There’s not much else to say about the diner, other than it looks like a pretty good place to eat some comfort food with your best buds.

16. The Raven, Raiders Of The Lost Ark

This remote dive bar is located in the Nepal highlands and is described as “crummy” by Marion Ravenwood, the bar’s owner. However, it seems to be well-loved by the locals and features a warm fire with some pretty decent drinks.

17. La Ratatouille, Ratatouille

Yeah, the food is cooked by a rat, but it seems to have raving reviews according to the people of France. If Remi is as good as Ego claims, it’s no surprise that this spot is unbelievably popular. Even the rats seem to like it!

18. Mystic Pizza, Mystic Pizza

This 1988 film is set in the town of Mystic, Connecticut, and follows the lives of three teenage girls. While the movie isn’t fully centered on the restaurant, it should be noted that a food critic gives the pizza his highest rating, so it really must be good!

19. Milliway’s, Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy

This restaurant is located at the end of the universe, but that doesn’t stop it from getting a five-star rating. It’s iconic drink, the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, is considered the best drink in existence, despite the violent descriptions of the drink’s effects.

20. Rick’s Café Américain, Casablanca

If your movie is considered one of the best of all time, we would hope that the food is also top-notch. The exterior of the restaurant looks like the pinnacle of fine dining, and we often see the characters boozing and schmoozing over board games and cigarettes. Even if the food wasn’t good, it still seemed like it was the place to be.
