Just because it's winter doesn’t mean the summer camping fun has to end! You can enjoy a tasty fireside treat, sans fire, if you know what to do.
Indoor s’mores are perfect for kids' birthdays, slumber parties, or if you find yourself missing the warm air. With just a few ingredients and a little bit of creativity, you can curate a summertime vibe that will get you through the coldest months of the year.
To learn how to make indoor s’mores, follow below.
Pop ‘Em In The Oven
Combine your standard graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate of preference onto a baking sheet. Using the broil option on your oven, bake your fun dessert for 1-2 minutes— that’s all you really need. Pop the top graham cracker on top and voila! You’ve made yourself a s’more.
Air Fryer Delights
The air fryer is an incredibly useful tool, isn’t it? You can bake just about anything in there—including s’mores.
With your air fryer set at 390°F, toast the bottom graham cracker and the marshmallow for 3 or 4 minutes, and then add your chocolate for around 10 seconds to allow it to melt. You know the drill from here.
Microwavable
Microwaved s’mores are probably the most common kind of indoor s’more due to their sheer simplicity. While you won’t get a beautiful “toasted” effect on your marshmallow, you’ll still have an ooey-gooey dessert to enjoy.
Just something to note if you’ve never made microwaved smores before: Your marshmallow WILL expand—this is normal. Just don’t let it go for too long, or you’ll be left with a sticky mess to clean up.
Make A Cake
We’re getting a little off the rails here, but if you’ll allow it, we’d like to tell you about the s’mores cake. S’mores cakes can be made with a chocolate or graham cracker flavored base, layering the other flavors with a chocolate or marshmallow frosting. The top, however, is the piece de resistance—marshmallow or marshmallow fluff torched to get that familiar summer flavor. We guarantee this will elevate your s’mores game until the end of time.
Hot Chocolate
If you’re not feeling like eating a s’more, then perhaps drinking a s’more would be better? Hot chocolate with marshmallows is already two-thirds of a complete s'more, so why not get some graham crackers to dip in your delicious drink?
Other Ways To Elevate Your S’mores
- Incorporating different flavors of chocolate. S’mores with sea salt, hazelnut, or peanut butter would taste just as good.
- Get a little wacky with the toppings. S’mores don’t have to start and end with these three ingredients. Add roasted fruit, candied bacon, coconut, chili powder, or even potato chips to your mini sandwich.
- Change the cracker. Instead of using your standard graham cracker, why not build your base with Rice Krispies treats, Oreo cookies, sugar cookies, or even Ritz crackers for a salty and sweet combination?
- Make it fondue. If you have the luxury of owning a fondue pot or a small electric burner, you can make your s’mores feel like the pinnacle of wealth. You won’t ever think about a campfire again.`
